Microsoft has officially announcement the arrival of the new title Age of Empires Mobile. Will it be able to live up to PC titles?
This isn’t the first time the Age of Empires series has come to mobile. Previously, in fact, it has already arrived in two different forms, and neither of them has been able to fully satisfy the most diehard fans of the series: Age of Empires: Castle Siege, born as a game for Windows Phone then made its way onto iOS and Android and Age of Empires: World Domination.
However, both games were quite a far cry from the complex and expansive historical real-time strategy titles of the main series. In reality, both were free titles and both are no longer operational. Now, it looks like things are really about to change: Microsoft, or technically Xbox Game Studios, along with its in-house studio World’s Edge, have announced the brand new Age of Empires Mobile game!
Unfortunately, we know very little about this title at the moment. It’s also possible it’s the global version of “Return to Empire,” which has been available for over a year in Asian markets and was a collaboration between Xbox Game Studios, World’s Edge, and Timi Studios. We’ll let you know as soon as there are more details. In the meantime, enjoy this trailer:
