According to analysts and some media, Apple is expected to introduce micro-LED displays in its future products, starting with theAppleWatch Second-generation Ultra, scheduled for release in late Q3 2024.
Micro-LED displays use extremely small light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for the backlight used by the display, which results in more accurate colors, darker blacks, and better contrast. Also, they don’t promote screen wear like LCD and OLED panels do. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the ” images look like they are painted on the glass of the device“.
