Throughout the end of last season and the start of this one, Carlo Ancelotti praised the atmosphere in Real Madrid’s dressing room.
Marco Asensio was looking to leave before the end of the summer transfer window but couldn’t find a viable option. It looks like he will now complete the last year of his contract with Real Madrid.
So far, he has been limited in his participation. He’s only played 17 minutes in Real Madrid’s seven appearances so far. Asensio was warming up when Ancelotti used his last substitute against Real Mallorca on Sunday, after which Asensio returned to the bench in anger.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s second Champions League encounter on Tuesday, Ancelotti said he was happy with his reaction since then. Marca echoed his remarks.
“You can’t consider him a youngster, nor a veteran. At the moment he has to live with it, he’s doing well. The reaction to his [explosion de] frustration was very good, he trained very well yesterday and he did very well today.”
“That’s what has to happen when a player gets angry. There are two reactions, train better or give up.
