“COLAB FOR SILVER”, a HUB source of collaborative innovations to promote BETTER LIVING and BETTER AGING

20 million French people (30% of the population) will be over 60 in 2030. It is estimated that more than 1/4 the share of people over 65 in 2040 and 1/3 in 2070 (source Insee) .

This new demographic challenge calls into question the longevity support models currently in place and must see the emergence of responses adapted to new needs and new practices.

Autonomy at home, aging in a medical environment, social ties, medical follow-up, care pathways: convinced of the effectiveness of open innovation to build tomorrow’s solutions in the face of an aging population, CEA and MACIF are joining forces to work on new perspectives.

In line with territorial policies, the Hub CoLab for Silver aims to define a common methodology to find cutting-edge technological solutions adapted to the aging of the population and prepare their launch on the market.

Open to multiple perspectives, the approach is based on work carried out with actors of different typologies (large groups, start-ups, local authorities, medico-social structures, etc.) within the framework of creativity workshops, R&D projects , events and experiments.

In this perspective, the Hub relies on:

– the varied expertise of its partners who integrate both uses, technology and the “market” dimension in a process of collaborative innovation

– methods of ideation, creativity and clarification implemented in particular within the CEA’s open innovation centers

– secure experimental grounds (test benches, technological platforms), realistic (connected apartments, surrounding experimental sites) or real (living areas)
