Construction work on the new VRT building on the Mediapark site on Boulevard Reyers in Brussels will be able to start in November, Flemish public radio and television announced on Tuesday. After the planning permit, the environmental permit was also issued on Thursday, so that the work can start in November. The work will last four years in total, specifies the VRT.
The new building, which will have four floors, will be located behind the current VRT building, which will be demolished afterwards. The “VRT Morgen” consortium, made up of the architectural offices OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, Jaspers-Eyers Architects and Bureau Bas Smets, the design offices Tractebel and CES, the builder of TV and radio studios Ideal Acoustics, companies Willemen Construct and Jan De Nul Group as well as the building technology group EEG will carry out the construction.
