Crosscall Core-X5: a reinforced smartphone for professionals

After’Action X5 released in November 2021, Crosscall unveiled in May 2022 a new reinforced smartphone, the Core-X5. The latter relies on its support for the PMR (Professional Mobile Radio) bands to appeal to construction professionals, the emergency services and the army. The smartphone also has a walkie-talkie function and 4 programmable buttons.

A device designed for hostile environments

Like other Crosscall smartphones, the Core-X5 is robust. IP68 certified, it can stay underwater for 30 minutes up to a depth of 2 meters without being damaged.

The smartphone also benefits from MIL-STD-810H certification. According to its manufacturer, it can withstand drops of 2 meters. For this, the device is adorned with many protections, which are not without impact on its weight (256 grams).

For the performance component, the Crosscall Core-X5 is rather modest and displays a technical sheet that ranks it among entry-level smartphones. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 665 SoC supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 storage, a 4940 mAh battery compatible with reverse charging, a 48 megapixel wide-angle camera and an IPS LCD screen of 5 .45 inches with HD+ definition (1440 x 720 pixels). A Corning Gorilla Glass 3 glass is placed above the slab to protect it. Count 549.99 € to offer it to you.

The big screen

Note that a Tablet named Core T-5 was launched at the same time as this smartphone. Except for the weight (594 grams), screen (8 inches), RAM/ROM configuration (3/32 GB), camera (13 megapixels) and battery (7000 mAh), it has the same characteristics as the Core-X5. It is offered at €649.99.

Naturally, this reinforced tablet is also aimed at professionals.
