Discord is integrating voice chats for the PS5 in its latest beta.

Discord began rolling out voice chat integration in the latest next-gen console beta. Sony, PlayStation 5 (PS5)which is already accessible to some testers of the platform.

At the end of July, Microsoft announced that the latest Xbox update would integrate voice of discorda feature that would allow Xbox X Series X|S and Xbox One players to connect with friends and Discord communities through voice channels or group calls.

This option, which allows you to know during the game who is in communication and who speaks, to regulate the sound or the switch between voice chat and Xbox chatfirst arrived in the Xbox Insider Program, before rolling out to all other players.

Recently, several Reddit users and Twitter shared screenshots of a new option included in the app’s UI that allows them to ‘Join Voice on PlayStation’, a feature that appears under ‘Join Xbox’ in the latest Discord beta .

Once this button is pressed, Discord asks players to add their PlayStation account, in order to display their ID and the games they are playing. It will also redirect them to to the Sony account section through an external link.

According to the screenshots posted, this option will only be available on Sony’s next-gen console, the PS5, and not its immediate predecessor, the PlayStation 4 (PS4). At this point, neither Sony nor Discord have confirmed the validity of this feature.
