On November 16, a second Ada Lovelace graphics card will enter the arena: the GeForce RTX 4080. Only the most efficient version, the one with 16 GB of GDDR6X and 9728 CUDA cores, NVIDIA having, since the announcement of its first GeForce RTX 4000 mid-September, canceled the RTX 4080 12 GB. The GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition will be marketed at a price of 1469 euros. Several retailers, across multiple countries, have started listing custom RTX 4080s. Unsurprisingly, especially in Europe, the bills look much higher.

Across the Channel, for example, LaptopsDirect offers RTX 4080 Palit from 1450 pounds, even up to 1530 pounds for the most expensive model. This is equivalent to 1685 and 1778 euros respectively. In Finland, Proshop, official partner of NVIDIA in this country, starts the auction at 1620 euros for the Inno3D RTX 4080 X3. The amounts can sometimes be around 2000 euros, for example for the ASUS ROG STRIX OC and its selling price of 1970 euros. Note, however, that the VAT is 24% in Finland, which raises the price of the FE to 1509 euros.

Customers are better off across the Atlantic, with cards, like that of PNY, sold at the recommended price of 1199 dollars.

Already high base prices

Nothing very surprising, the prices of custom models are of course always higher. Inevitably, with such high base rates, the additional costs evolve accordingly. Already, for the RTX 4090, the excellent Asus TUF RTX 4090 OC notably costs 2299 euros, which is 350 euros more than the FE.
