Peugeot has just lifted the veil on theInception, a concept car announcing the style of future electric Peugeots from 2025. But before that date, the lion brand will launch other new features and 100% electric variants. According to English journalists fromCoach which take up the words of the director of Peugeot Linda Jackson, these electric novelties will be five to arrive by 2025.
First there will be the e-308 already officially presented, equipped with the same powertrain as the restyled DS 3, the Jeep Avenger or the Opel Mokka Electric (new 156 horsepower electric motor and 54 kWh batteries). The e-208 has also just received this 156 horsepower electric motor but with smaller batteries. As for the e-2008 and other Rifter, they will soon receive the powertrain of the e-308. The 408, currently equipped with petrol and rechargeable hybrid engines, must also offer a 100% electric variant. But it will need batteries bigger than 54 kWh if it wants to be credible against the family electric models of the current market.
The 3008 and 5008 electric too
The third generation of the 3008 and 5008, expected for 2024 at the latest and based on the new STLA Medium platform, should also offer an electric version. Like the 408, they will need larger batteries than the e-308 to compete. But for the moment, Peugeot remains silent when we ask its communicators for details on the technical characteristics of its next electric family models.
