Football: US Orleans preserves its invincibility in Cholet

US Orléans had the possibility of climbing to first place in the National in the event of a victory in Cholet, this Friday evening. But no regrets. The draw brought back from Vendée constitutes a happy outcome for Xavier Collin’s players. If they showed control in the first period, if they managed to equalize quickly, they were strongly moved after the break. The USO remains second in the standings.

premium Two more points for US Orléans

Certainly less tense and more serene after the points recovered in the week (two points for US Orléans against Concarneau and three points for Cholet against Avranches), the two teams attacked the game with their feet on the floor. With many situations in front of the goals of Baptiste Valette and Vincent Viot, the two goalkeepers. At this little game, it’s Cholet who opened the scoring. On a long opening, Yankuba Jarju played the Orleans defense to deceive Vincent Viot (24th).

Kevin Fortuné’s equalizer

After the rapid equalization of Versailles in the last match (1-1), Kévin Fortuné recalled the eternal five minute rule and the obligation to close the game after scoring. This time, the Orleans striker made it his own. Two minutes after the Cholet goal, he escaped Glen Motodo and in a tight angle, he deceived Baptiste Valette (26th) to his second goal of the season.

The mastery was Orleans during the last quarter of an hour of the first period but Cholet occasions with a tap from Vincent Viot on a strike from Moudja Ouattara (40th) and above all a stoppage on a too soft shot from Yoann Le Méhauté, yet in an ideal position in the area (45th + 1).

Vigilant Vincent Viot

As soon as the recovery, Yankuba Jarju was on the verge of redoing the same shot as in the first period but this time, Vincent Viot managed to deflect the attempt of the Mauges top scorer (54th). The Orleans goalkeeper also blocked his angle well on a strike from Alexandre Gameiro (59th).

The USO was suffering. Yankuba Jarju (66th) and Yoann Le Mehauté (75th) could have put Cholet in front of the score but they couldn’t find the frame… unlike Kévin Fortuné well served by Liamine Mokdad. But the floating shot of the Orleans striker was repelled as best he could by Baptiste Valette (83rd).

US Orléans still at ten

The new eviction the fourth in a row for US Orléans, with the second yellow card received by Marvin Elimbi (90th), could have been expensive. At the end of additional time, Yoann Le Méhauté’s powerful recovery was superbly repelled by Vincent Viot. Yankuba Jarju recovered the ball and scored but the goal was disallowed for an offside position by the Cholet striker (90th + 3). Phew!

Now it’s time for the Centre-Val de Loire derby on the sixth day. US Orléans will host the Berrichonne of Châteauroux, this Friday, September 16 at La Source stadium. Kick off at 7:30 p.m.
