Intel Core i9-13900KS: it is launched on the market at $699

After several months of rumors and expectations on this newcomer to the Raptor Lake range, we are finally there: the processor Intel Core i9-13900KS has just been launched on the market. It is therefore the brand’s new flagship CPU in the mainstream sector. The KS version is actually a i9-13900K, but which benefits from a higher box output frequency than the i9-13900K. Indeed, while the latter is at Base/Boost frequencies of 3/5.8 GHz, the Intel Core i9-13900KS is for its part at 6 GHz in Boost on two of the P-Cores (and still 3 GHz in Base). Which also makes it the first CPU in the world to reach this 6 GHz bar out of the box. So we have a factory OC of +200 MHz compared to its little brother. However, the frequency of E-Cores has not changed.

The new best mainstream processor from Intel is the i9-13900KS

Anyway, to get there, consumption is also increasing to go from 125W to 150W in PL1 with a PL2 still at 253W. Intel changed the way its power headroom is used to support better boost frequency distribution on the P-Cores. For the rest of the technical specifics, we therefore have the same thing with a hybrid architecture offering 8 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores for 32 threads in total. We also find 32 MB of L2 cache and 36 MB of L3 cache.

However, we haven’t seen any tests on the other press sites, which means Intel didn’t provide the media for testing. But from what we have seen on the media having obtained the precious in another way, it is noted that consumption is still very high, as are the temperatures. Therefore, unsurprisingly, a particularly efficient cooling system will be needed to cool the beast that this Intel Core i9-13900KS represents.

Talking about pricing, this CPU is launched at $699 in the market. In comparison, the i9-13900K is at an MSRP of $590. It is not yet on the French market, but we can expect to see it arrive shortly. As for the price, do not expect to see it below 800 euros. Indeed, it is referenced for example at Top Purchase at 919.99 euros or at LDLC at 919.96 euros.

How the pricing table works

The price offers are listed in ascending order of price. The prices displayed are inclusive of VAT (all taxes included). The price of postage displayed corresponds to the cheapest home delivery offered by the merchant. We reference in its price tables the merchants who wish to be present on the condition of displaying prices with VAT (TTC – all taxes included) and of presenting an excellent level of quality of service and customer satisfaction. This referencing is paid. Our price tables are therefore not exhaustive of all the offers and merchants present on the market. The offers present in the price tables are updated daily and several times a day for certain shops.
