Kenyan police have arrested six teachers at a primary school in the west of the country over a widely shared video showing students simulating sex acts as teachers watched.
Local media report that teachers in Nyamache, Kisii County were arrested after Ministry of Education officials viewed the clip and filed a complaint.
In the video, adults can be heard talking and laughing out loud as someone records the four boys wearing school uniforms.
A police report noted that the clip “exposing students to an indecent act” appeared to be from the school.
He said the six people arrested were participating in investigations and appropriate charges would follow.
The video sparked an uproar on social media, with many calls for action.
“What they did can only be called barbaric, bestial and crazy. This has no justification! Let them face the full force of the law,” said one person on Twitter.
“I support the arrest of the six teachers… There is no justification [pour] what they did,” said another.
