Konami teased the announcement of a game from a series beloved around the world during the Tokyo Game Show. With all the clues we had, we could think who Suikoden would be concerned, even if we avoided believing it too strongly in order to avoid yet another disappointment. But it’s the cult JRPG saga that was on stage this morning, not really for a new game, but rather for remasters concerning Suikoden I & II.
It’s better than nothing, isn’t it?
The Japanese publisher has lifted the veil on Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars (sacred name), which will therefore be a compilation bringing together the remasters of the first two episodes of the saga (and we can say it, the best).
These remasters will now display redesigned backgrounds, completely in HD, with a revamped pixel-art look and new visual and sound effects. In addition to being now more beautiful, these remasters will include some new things like the presence of an automatic backupa conversation log so you don’t miss any dialogue, or even a fast forward that we can activate in the fights if these drag on.
For the moment, Konami has not given a precise date for the release of these remasters, but we should find Suikoden I & II in 2023 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. The page Steam of the compilation is already online.
Between these remasters and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes2023 will therefore be a great year for fans of Suikoden.
