Land Rover marks 75 years of existence with a limited edition green Defender. No, it’s not an all-electric version of the SUV, but rather a model that will be dressed exclusively in Grasmer Green, an exterior color never before applied to a Defender. The same green is found on the 20-inch alloy wheels that fit the SUV.
Although it is a new color, the new special variant is nevertheless referred to as a heritage edition by its manufacturer.
This limited version of Defender will be really limited – only 75 units will be offered in Canada. Buyers will only be able to get it in the 90 or 110 configuration, thus excluding the 130 version.
Other distinctive features include 75 Years badging, Ceres Silver bumpers and accents, and premium LED lighting.
Green also returns to the interior, with accents on the vehicle’s crossmember and laser-etched details here and there. The seats are not green, but rather in Resist Ebony. In the front row, they frame a center console with a Robustec material veneer.
There’s also a fabric folding roof, 14-way power-adjustable front seats, heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, 360-degree 3D camera, terrain management system and a unique Meridian sound system.
Shoppers can go all out by purchasing 75-year-old Lifestyle Collection items that will go with the special edition, such as a watch, backpack and matching apparel. And yes, they are in Grasmer green.
Land Rover hasn’t announced pricing for Canada, but for die-hard fans who want to grab one of the 75 units that will go on sale, there’s no need to procrastinate. Contact your Land Rover Retailer for details.
