Magic The Gathering celebrates its 30th anniversary with an XXL expansion

Wizards of the Coast kicks off the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of its star game early, with the announcement of Dominaria United.

Since its creation by Richard Garfield in 1993, Magic: The Gathering has always offered the possibility of creating new universes. One of the most popular card games in the world had indeed anticipated the concept of multiverse, players embodying mages capable of traversing dimensions, the famous Planeswalkers. The license can now take full advantage of it both in its online version, called Magic: The Gathering Arena, only in its paper version. While the thirtieth anniversary celebrations of Magic will start soon, Wizards Of The Coast, its publisher, is now announcing a new expansion: Dominaria United.

In well-known land

This extension will include 281 new cards, accompanying a scenario of the darkest. The Praetor Sheoldred have long been planning their invasion of one of the most famous and ancient planes in the universe. Magic, at the head of his Phyrexian army. Some of the favorite Planeswalkers of the veterans, such as Karn, Ajani Goldmane, Liliana Vess or Jaya Ballard will therefore oppose this apocalyptic fate which threatens Dominaria. But Wizard Of The Coast did not forget to satisfy varied audiences for this major event.

Games accessible to all

The return of Jumpstart boosters, which allow fast and less card-intensive games, will allow beginners to get their feet wet. The most seasoned will undoubtedly take just as much pleasure in this lighter game mode, whose boosters take up around ten themes linked to various characteristics of Dominaria. And the most relentless will dream of the 240 Legends cards, in homage to the 1994 expansion, scattered in the collector boosters. Dominaria United will also be available in Draft Boosters, Set Boosters, Commander Decks and Bundles, starting September 9 in physical form and online today at Magic: The Gathering Arena.
