Minor migrants try to squat a college in Toulouse: local residents evict them

An arrival far from being to the taste of local residents, especially since the old college is still used by neighborhood associations for extracurricular activities. The inhabitants then organized an operation to dislodge the squatters.

Expelled on August 26 from the former nursing home they occupied in Toulouse, migrants from West Africa settled this Saturday September 3 in a disused college, south of the city. At the beginning of the afternoon, helped by militant associations, a hundred unaccompanied minors took their places in the building after installing a chain on the gate as well as a banner asking for “collective accommodation”, as indicated by our colleagues of The Dispatch.

Residents oppose the installation

An arrival far from being to the taste of local residents, especially since the old college is still used by neighborhood associations for extracurricular activities. The inhabitants then organized an operation to dislodge the squatters. Throwing projectiles were reported by our colleagues, without the situation turning into a confrontation. After the intervention of the police, the young migrants finally left the scene, with no housing solution.
