OCP Group joins the EITI as a company supporting its principles

The EITI Extractive Industries Transparency Initiativetoday welcomed the OCP Group as a new company supporting the initiative.

A leader in the field of plant nutrition and the world’s leading producer of phosphate-based fertilizers, the OCP Group is the responsible custodian of the largest reserves of phosphate in the world, a vital and essential element for the global economy. Once processed, phosphate rock is used as a key element in fertilizers, food, cosmetics and electronics.

The Group is committed to embedding transparency in its management systems and processes, as highlighted in its statement: “We are working towards a sustainable future and our governance ensures that we always act ethically, with integrity and transparency. To this end, OCP Group publishes an interim consolidated financial statement which summarizes the financial information. The Group has also established a code of conduct including policies against corruption and bribery.

This membership of the EITI will allow the OCP Group to advance its transparency program by committing to respect the principles of the EITI. This program notably describes nine areas that underpin accountability and transparency in line with these principles.

“We welcome OCP Group to the EITI community,” said Mark Robinson, Executive Director of the EITI. “By committing to respecting the principles of the EITI, the OCP Group will benefit from access to international best practices and will adopt a leadership role by making its operations even more transparent and more accountable. »
