Pacific Drive, a road-lite combining driving and survival

Ironwood Studios unveils Pacific Drive.

In development for three years, Pacific Drive presents itself as a first-person survival and driving game. The players’ car is their only companion as they navigate a surreal, anomaly-filled reimagining of the Pacific Northwest (the US government’s new showcase of future technologies in the 1950s). Each wilderness excursion brings unique and bizarre challenges, as players restore and upgrade their car in an abandoned garage that serves as their base. With the car as their lifeline, they’ll uncover a long-forgotten mystery as they head into the heart of the Olympic Exclusion Zone.

Blake Dove, Head of Communications and Marketing at Ironwood Studios, said :

Since its inception in 2019, Ironwood Studios has been hard at work on Pacific Drive and we are extremely proud to partner with PlayStation to bring this project to life. Our team loves crafting surreal settings and integrating intricate mechanics that allow players to live unique and unexpected experiences. We have a thing for urban legends and the forests of the Pacific Northwest, two things the Olympic Exclusion Zone is full of. And it’s not for nothing that any of us would say no to a good old road trip! As you get your bearings in what’s left of the area, you’ll find that the places aren’t as abandoned as they seem; and that some of the dusty stories and legends that populate the area are still very much alive. Do not take your eyes off the road because the forest is vast and denseā€¦ It is not as deserted as it seems.
