Packers: Aaron Rodgers on leaving?

The Green Bay Packers are reportedly very open to trading quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the coming weeks.

On Monday, the NFL Network reported that the NFL organization likes what it has seen from young center Jordan Love and would agree to part ways with the 39-year-old veteran if the return is big.

NBC Sports went even further, saying the Packers are looking for at least two first-round picks against the holder of four NFL MVP awards (2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021).

This isn’t the first time Rodgers’ future in Green Bay has been in the air. After threatening to retire last year, he finally signed a three-year contract extension, which includes a guaranteed $101.4 million.

Rodgers also opened the door to the possibility of playing for another roster during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show last week.

“I think I can win another MVP award if I’m in the right situation. Is it in Green Bay or somewhere else? I’m not sure. However, I do not believe that I should close doors, “said the quarterback.

In 2022, Rodgers completed 64.6% of his passes for 3,695 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also had 12 interceptions, his highest tally since the 2008 campaign.

Coming back to Love, he’s seen action in four games this season. He completed 14 of 21 throws he attempted for 195 yards and a major. The 24-year-old footballer was a first-round pick (26th overall) for the Packers in the 2020 draft.
