Postponed at the last minute, the launch of the Xiaomi 13 has a new official date

The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were supposed to be introduced to the world and released in China last week. But national news caught up with the brand’s plans, which had to postpone their launch.

Users of the Chinese social network Weibo have shared the new banner seen on the Mi Store, the online store of Xiaomi. This now indicates a release of the manufacturer’s flagships on December 11, so this Sunday.

national tribute

It is more than likely that Xiaomi found itself forced to postpone the release date of its latest smartphones top of the range because of the news of the country. Two days after the first date was announced, former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin died at the age of 96. Many local brands had to put their plans on hold following this event until the national tribute was paid to the former president. This one took place yesterday in all the country.

Xiaomi therefore had to choose a new date to present its new smartphones, announced as the first to be equipped with the chips Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm. Internet users have shared screenshots of the poster presenting the new date chosen. The brand’s flagships will be unveiled this Sunday, December 11 at 7 p.m. local time, or 12 p.m. in France. This event will also be an opportunity to unveil the Xiaomi Buds 4 and the latest update to the embedded OS MIUI 14.

The thinnest borders

Let’s take this opportunity to take a last look at the information available on these Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. as seen at the end of November, the two smartphones will not come in quite the same form. The Xiaomi 13 will have a flat screen with edges of 1.61 mm maximum. The 13 Pro model will have curved, metal-rimmed screen edges. They should always come out before the Vivo X90 Pro+ and therefore guarantee their place as the first smartphones equipped with the latest powerful chips from Qualcomm.

The photo block was designed in partnership with the German brand Leica and should therefore show promise. Everything remains to be formalized on this point, but the various leaks released in recent months promise us a main sensor of 50 Mpx. However, Xiaomi has not yet communicated on a possible 13X model. All you have to do is wait until Sunday.
