For some, December 31 marks the preparations for New Year’s Eve. For others, it’s an opportunity to make an announcement. This is the niche chosen by the developers of Skunkape Games to unveil Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastereda remastered version of the eponymous game released in 2010. Our duo will soon be back.
A teaser and a release in 2023
Unfortunately, we must not be greedy for information: the studio has simply published a very short teaser to formalize the thing, and that’s it. We know all the same that this remastered version is planned for the year 2023 but without more precision on the period. No platform has been announced either.
As a reminder, Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse was released in 2010 on PC and PlayStation 3. Recently, the license has been trying to revive itself, with a virtual reality title moderately received but above all, two other games that have already been remastered: Sam & Max Save the World Remastered and Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Remastered, released at the end of 2020 and the end of 2021 respectively.
Given that these last two reissues have arrived on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch (with staggered release dates), we can imagine that the remaster of The Devil’s Playhouse will follow the same path, especially since it is the last part of the trilogy.
