Big blow for La Roja? The Spanish international center-forward of Atlético de Madrid, Alvaro Morata, left injured after ten minutes of play in the match against Cadiz counting for the 12th day of La Liga on Saturday, twelve days before the announcement of Luis Enrique’s list for the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 – December 18).
Victim of contact with Mamadou Mbaye in the area, for which the Madrid players unsuccessfully asked for a penalty, Morata was briefly examined on the lawn, then a second time on the sideline, before giving way to Matheus Cunha in the 10th minute.
The player had a worrying face
Morata was visibly hit in the right ankle. He limped out, but without help from the trainers. The striker cradled his head in his hands as he walked off the field and looked on the verge of tears. He should probably pass exams that will say more.
The 29-year-old centre-forward, trained at Real Madrid and passed through Juventus and Chelsea, is one of the favorite strikers of Spanish coach Luis Enrique. He has 27 goals in 57 appearances with La Roja.
