the PS5 and Xbox Series X version will arrive well in 2022

The Witcher 3 will be entitled to an improved version for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Long awaited, it will finally be released before the end of 2022. CD Projekt studio announced it in a tweet.

The Witcher 3, released in 2015, is considered one of the best action/RPGs in video game history. It will soon have the right to a new youth with a “new-gen” version, therefore dedicated to the PS5 and the Xbox Series X (but also PC). Today we have an exit window.

In a tweet, the studio has indeed announced that this revised and corrected version of The Witcher 3 will arrive well before the end of 2022. Excellent news, since this project (initially planned for 2021) has been constantly postponed due to development concerns.

The Witcher 3 will look better than ever on PS5 and Xbox Series X

This “new-gen” version will include big graphical improvements and the addition of ray-tracing. Please note, this is the same game as the original. The graphics have been enhanced, and not reworked from scratch as is the case for the recent The Last of Us Part I, which is a Remake. The difference is sometimes tenuous between Remake and Remaster. This PS5 and Xbox Series X version was designed by Saber Interactive (now integrated into the studio), already at work on the Switch version.

The Witcher 3 Remaster isn’t the only big project on fire for CD Projekt Red. Now that issues have been resolved on Cyberpunk 2077, the studio has announced the upcoming arrival (2023) of the game’s first major expansion. Named Phantom Liberty, this DLC will take place during the main campaign and will allow us to explore the Pacifica district in greater depth. Content that should equal in size the expansions of The Witcher 3, namely Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

The studio is also working on a fourth part of The Witcher, this time based on the Unreal Engine 5. He does not intend to let go of Geralt de Riv anytime soon, since this episode has been described as the starting point of a new saga.
