The recruitment window starts this Sunday in Paris!

As announced last month, one of the innovations of the BAL 2023 is the BAL Combine. An event which will take place in France and which will allow the 12 qualified clubs to recruit players and strengthen their workforce.

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has just announced today the holding of a Combine in Paris for young players wishing to participate in the 2023 BAL season. The two-day event, which will be attended by 30 players from Africa, Europe, the United States and the rest of the world, will take place on Sunday January 15 and Monday January 16 at The One Ball training center in Paris informs the press release from the BAL.

Players will take part in anthropometric and athletic tests, technical development activities by position and 5v5 matches in front of emissaries, coaches and managers of the 12 club teams qualified for the 2023 BAL season. Remember that each of the 12 BAL teams will have up to 13 players, of whom at least 8 will be citizens of the country of origin of their team and up to 4 may be from other countries, including a maximum of 2 from a country not African.

Regarding the program in Paris, big names in basketball will be present. This will be a taste of the BAL while waiting for the start of season 3 on March 11 at the Dakar Arena which will host the 15 matches of the Conference Sahara. 2021 NBA All-Star Game coach and former Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder will lead the BAL Combine. James Wade, 2021 WNBA champion and Chicago Sky coach, Jean-Aimé Toupane, coach of the France women’s team, Ed Davis, former NBA player, Lamine Kebe, coach of the France men’s under-18 team and Mehdy Mary, assistant coach of the France men’s under-20 team, will complete Snyder’s coaching staff.
