How does the Europa League knockout stage work?

The winners of these eight matches will join the eight Europa League group winners in the round of 16, with the draw scheduled for February 24. The losers leave the European stage for 2022/23.

How did the draw go?

The eight UEFA Europa League group runners-up have been placed in the seeding pot; all eight teams transferred from the UEFA Champions League were in the unseeded hat. A team was drawn from each hat to create each poster, with the seeded teams playing the return matches at home. Clubs from the same association could not be drawn against each other.
